Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi aplikasi asuransi karbon sebagai strategi mitigasi risiko dalam mendukung pengembangan ekosistem pasar karbon di Indonesia. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur dan analisis komparatif dengan negara-negara yang lebih maju, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tiga produk utama asuransi karbon yang relevan, yaitu asuransi indeks cuaca untuk kredit karbon, asuransi kredit karbon berbasis kinerja, dan asuransi kredit untuk investasi proyek karbon. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ketiga produk ini memiliki potensi besar untuk diterapkan di Indonesia, dengan mempertimbangkan tantangan seperti kesiapan regulasi, kapasitas sistem Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), serta kebutuhan akan insentif fiskal. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi berupa penguatan regulasi, pengembangan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, serta kolaborasi lintas sektor untuk mendukung implementasi efektif asuransi karbon di pasar karbon Indonesia.
