Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari Fitur Lirik Lagu di Spotify dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata mahasiswa.  Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 19 mahasiswa dari semester empat Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Bhinneka PGRI, Tulungagung.  Pengaruh dari Fitur Lirik Lagu di Spotify dapat dilihat pada nilai tes kosakata mahasiswa. Peneliti menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan desain pre-experimen sebagai metode penelitian dengan 20 tes kosa kata di setiap pre-test dan post-test sebagai instrumen penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 50,00 sedangkan nilai rata-rata dari post-test adalah 71,58.  Dapat diartikan bahwa nilai post-test lebih tinggi dari nilai pre-test. Berdasarkan hasil penghitungan statistik menunjukkan bahwa nilai dari Sig.(2-tailed) lebih rendah dari 0,05, yaitu (0,000<0,05), yang berarti bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis null (H0) ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada efek yang signifikan dari Fitur lirik lagu dalam Spotify terhadap penguasaan kosakata mahasiswa di semester empat Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Bhinneka PGRI.
