Penguasaan kosakata sangat penting bagi siswa Sekolah Dasar. Pada usia 7–12 tahun anak mampu menguasai kosakata dengan baik, Namun tingkat penguasaan kosakata anak masih rendah dan guru masih menggunakan media di kelas sehingga siswa kurang tertarik. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Indonesia melalui media papan selip pada ssiwa kelas 1 SD Negeri 1 Boyolangu Desa Boyolangu Kecamatan Boyolangu. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa. Pengumpulan datanya dilakukan dengan observasi, tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa kelas I SD Negeri 1 Boyolangu dibagi menjadi dua faktor kesulitan yaitu faktor eksternal dan faktor internal. Faktor eksternal berasal dari luar diri siswa. Adapun kesulitan yang bersumber dari luar diri akan menjadi penghalang dalam peningkatan pembelajaran mereka. Termasuk menghafal kosakata Bahasa Indonesia.
