Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) sebagai Faktor Resiko Problematic Smartphone Use pada Remaja, Dewasa Muda, dan Mahasiswa

Peningkatan penggunaan smartphone pada remaja dan dewasa muda berpotensi menimbulkan problematic smartphone use (PSU) yang berdampak pada kesehatan mental. Salah satu faktor psikologis yang berperan adalah Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), yaitu kecemasan saat individu merasa tertinggal dari pengalaman sosial orang lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran FoMO sebagai faktor risiko terhadap PSU. Metode yang digunakan adalah systematic literature review dengan pendekatan PRISMA terhadap artikel tahun 2021–2026 yang diperoleh dari PubMed, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, dan Google Scholar. Dari 2.074 artikel, diperoleh 10 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar penelitian menemukan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara FoMO dan PSU, termasuk perilaku yang diidentifikasi sebagai smartphone addiction. Individu dengan tingkat FoMO tinggi cenderung memiliki risiko lebih besar mengalami penggunaan smartphone secara berlebihan. Selain itu, FoMO juga berperan sebagai mediator yang menghubungkan kecemasan, self-esteem, dan mindfulness dengan PSU. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa FoMO berkontribusi terhadap meningkatnya risiko PSU pada remaja dan dewasa muda.
