Abstract

Sikatrik kornea merupakan jaringan parut pada kornea yang menyebabkan berkurangnya kejernihan kornea dan dapat mengganggu fungsi penglihatan hingga menyebabkan kebutaan. Kondisi ini dapat terjadi akibat trauma pada mata, infeksi yang tidak tertangani dengan baik, penggunaan lensa kontak yang tidak tepat, serta penggunaan obat tetes mata tertentu secara tidak terkontrol. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji sikatrik kornea berdasarkan berbagai literatur dengan menelaah penyebab, dampaknya terhadap fungsi penglihatan, upaya pencegahan, serta penatalaksanaannya. Kajian dilakukan menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan pendekatan analisis deskriptif melalui pengumpulan dan penelaahan informasi yang bersumber dari buku, jurnal, catatan ilmiah, dan laporan hasil penelitian terdahulu. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat gangguan penglihatan akibat sikatrik kornea dipengaruhi oleh lokasi, luas, dan tingkat kekeruhan jaringan parut pada kornea. Sikatrik yang melibatkan area pusat kornea dapat menyebabkan penurunan tajam penglihatan yang lebih berat, sedangkan sikatrik di bagian perifer cenderung memberikan dampak yang lebih ringan. Pencegahan dapat dilakukan melalui penanganan infeksi secara tepat, penggunaan lensa kontak dan obat tetes mata sesuai aturan, serta perlindungan mata dari risiko trauma. Pada sikatrik kornea berat yang telah mengganggu penglihatan, keratoplasti atau pencangkokan kornea menjadi pilihan penatalaksanaan untuk mengembalikan fungsi kornea, meskipun pelaksanaannya masih menghadapi keterbatasan ketersediaan donor kornea.
